Nicole Ziccarelli

Nicole Ziccarelli, Esq. has maintained her own law practice since February of 2013. Prior to hanging her own shingle, Nicole worked for a former Pennsylvania Supreme Court Chief Justice, the Allegheny County District Attorney’s Office, the U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission in Washington, D.C., the Pittsburgh law firm of Dickie, McCamey & Chilcote, P.C., and served as a law clerk for Westmoreland County Court of Common Pleas Judge Christian Scherer.

Advocate

Nicole serves as a guardian ad litem for minor children in need in the Westmoreland County Court of Common Pleas. Nicole also serves as a certified mediator in divorce and custody cases and tirelessly advocates for the best interests of children. From 2013-2016, Nicole served on the Board for the Pittsburgh Association for the Education of Young Children, now Trying Together.

Community Leader

Nicole has served on the Advisory Boards at both Penn State New Kensington and Penn State Greater Allegheny, where she chaired the Auction Committee for the 3rd annual All That's Jazz event and raised more than $47,000 for student aid. Nicole also served as a volunteer at Family House Shadyside, co-chaired a fundraiser for Greek fire victims, and has hosted numerous fundraisers for our troops overseas during the holiday season. She is also a member of the PTA in her local school district and a member of her church’s Philoptochos Society at the Dormition of the Theotokos Greek Orthodox Church.

Teacher

Nicole was an adjunct instructor at Penn State University, teaching contemporary skills for business professionals to students in their junior and senior years of study. Her love for teaching began in 2008 when she worked as a literacy tutor for adult learners with the Greater Pittsburgh Literacy Council.

Wife, Mom, Daughter

Nicole was born and raised in Western Pennsylvania. She is the daughter of Cathy Lobaugh, an early childhood educator, and Paul Lobaugh, a neurophysiologist. Nicole met her husband, Frank-John, at a Super Bowl party on the North Side of Pittsburgh. They married in 2009 and live in the Lower Burrell/New Kensington area, where Frank-John was born and raised. They have four young, active children who are the light of their lives!

Penn State University

Nicole received her B.A. in Advertising and Public Relations from Penn State University in 2003. In 2002, Governor Schweiker appointed her to serve as Student Trustee on the University's Board of Trustees for a three-year term. Nicole was also the Executive Vice President of the Penn State Panhellenic Council. She most enjoyed her summer working for the Walt Disney World College Program on Big Thunder Mountain in the Magic Kingdom. She also earned internships with Eat'n Park Hospitality Group in Homestead, PA and former U.S. Congressman Jerry Weller in Washington, D.C.

Legal Education

Nicole received her juris doctorate from Penn State Dickinson School of Law in 2006. In addition to her law degree, Nicole received a Certificate in International, Comparative & Foreign Law from her time studying in London, England. Nicole worked as a legal research fellow at the U.S.-China Economic & Security Review Commission in Washington, D.C. She prepared legal memoranda for Commissioners regarding the Export Administration Act, the Committee on Foreign Investment in the U.S., the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, China’s World Trade Organization compliance, Countervailing Duties, Antidumping Regulations, and Intellectual Property Rights. Nicole was a Senior Editor of the Environmental Law Review, a member of the Thomas Tang National Moot Court Competition, Order of Barristers, and Corpus Juris Society.
